A lot's happened in the year since Taylor Swift released her album 1989 — there's been Twitter feuds, awkward breakup rumors, and somewhere along the way, she even seemed to find her chill. But there's still never been a video to one of the album's first singles, "Out of the Woods." Until now!
In preparation for tonight's premiere during New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest, Taylor tweeted a teaser-y film still from the long-anticipated video. It looks ... very literal.
Despite the fact that "out of the woods" is a common metaphor for having overcome a certain struggle, the music video for "Out of the Woods" appears to take place in an actual wood — at least, of course, if the ominous darkness, damp hair, and considerable dirt smeared over the face of Taylor Swift is any indication. Alternate theory: the video takes place in the post-apocalyptic world that flourished after the "Bad Blood" squad blew everything up.
