WKYC reports that Bonne Bell, the cosmetic brand of your middle school days, will close its manufacturing facility in Ohio and end distribution of Lip Smackers in the US. That shocking news caused much reflection on which Lip Smackers flavor was really the best: strawberry or cotton candy?
It's too soon to bid goodbye to Lip Smackers completely, though. In a new development, Lip Smackers just uploaded a Facebook post that reads:
Thank you everyone for your concern and loyalty for the Bonne Bell Company. We are overwhelmed with all the Lip Smacker and Bonne Bell Cosmetics love you have all shown over the years! The Lip Smacker and Bonne Bell brands have been sold but WILL continue to be available for purchase in the US and internationally. This is a revamping to the brands and we are excited to see what the future holds! So don't worry, you won't have to live in a Lip Smacker-less world! It's unclear what a revamp would entail exactly, and if new owners Markwins International Corporation will continue favored flavors such as Dr. Pepper (Dr. Pepper 4EVR). Stay tuned.
