Be a Fly on the Wall of An Adore Me Lingerie Shoot

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Lingerie startup Adore Me has big goals and a bold mission: to offer women high-end lingerie at affordable prices and to "disrupt" the industry at large. The two-year-old brand is led by Helen Mears, a former design director at Victoria's Secret, and is online-only right now. Most of their bra and panty sets ring in at $39.95, whereas Victoria's Secret might charge that much or more for just one item. Each month brings a new collection and frequent shoppers can sign up for a VIP program, which brings prices down even more and allows for free shipping and returns.

Racked tagged along on an Adore Me shoot to watch as Mears, photographer Geoff Barrenger and model Ariane Tasca work to get the exact-right shots for a three new collections. Go behind the scenes with our video, above.
