Ryan Reynolds Doesn't Crack Under Aggressive Baby Name Interrogation

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Ryan Reynolds—actor, husband of Blake Lively, and newly anointed father—maintained his desire to withhold the name of his first child in a "media context" while appearing on the Late Show with David Letterman. Letterman literally plows through popular baby names, hoping to catch Reynolds off guard, but as an actor with a side hustle in secret keeping, he didn't budge. Although he still hasn't told us that GD name, he makes up for it with endless gushing over his newborn girl and his lovely wife who is also a "human Denny's" for the child. Next time you won't get off so easy Reynolds. The public is thirsty for baby names and there are ways to make you talk.
