H &M has gone all-in on this season's time trip to the 1970s. If you needed any final convincing that the decade of wide-leg pants and tight polos is back, this photo tour of the retailer's latest collection should do the trick.
H&M's Studio collection, which is the renamed, rebooted runway line shown seasonally in Paris, approaches the decade with a "Miami" slant. This is evident in the color pairings, which marry peachy pink with deep green, and in louche-slouch silhouettes like pajama-style jackets with soft tie belts. Another major spring trend spotted in the Studio collection is jewel tones, which are normally reserved for fall. Here, burgundy and jade were accented with just-off-white in vintage varsity styles as well as single tie-dye stripes, seen rippling across the bottom of a mini skirt, though a skinny belt, and over the center front of a pair of flat, pointed suede mules.
Despite being the runway line, Studio prices are in line with typical H&M fare, starting at $9.95 and topping out at $149. Items from this seasonal collection will be in stores and online March 12, but you can take an early look at them up close in our exclusive photos above, which include pricing.
