Target will raise the starting pay of its employees to $9 an hour starting next month, Fortune reports. Both Walmart and T.J.Maxx announced last month that minimum wage for employees would bump up to $9 an hour. "Our goal is to always be competitive with the marketplace," a Target spokeswoman told the Wall Street Journal. The wage hikes reflect a tightening job market, according to Fortune, as unemployment fell last month to fell to 5.5%. That's the lowest level in nearly seven years.
