Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Essie, drugstore nail polish brand beloved by all, dropped its spring line-up over the weekend; six fresh shades inspired by gardens, flowers, and other beacons of "omg winter is finally over." The selection includes a pair of blue-green hues, two pretty neutrals, a plum, and a bluish-lavender-grey, all in milky cream finishes (and available as gel, too).

We got our hands (quite literally) on the new polishes in advance of their release, and were able to review the colors IRL, including how they dry. Watch above to hear our favorites, see the surprising color combos we stumbled upon, and shop the brand new colors directly from the video.
