Olivia Wilde: 'I'm a Mother, and I Look Like One'

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Rather than a traditional interview, Shape let April cover star Olivia Wilde pen her own profile. In the essay, the mom of 11 months opens up about her post-baby figure, claiming that she is "softer than I've ever been," saying, "in fact, I'm softer than I've ever been, including that unfortunate semester in high school when I simultaneously discovered Krispy Kreme and pot." The accompanying photos tell a different tale, but the actress explains that away, writing:

The photos of me in this magazine have been generously constructed to show my best angles, and I assure you, good lighting has been warmly embraced. The truth is, I'm a mother, and I look like one.
