J.Crew may have some great clothes in the works for fall, but the company is still struggling with current store sales. The retailer has been upfront about its shortcomings over the past year, and now seems to be in the process of quietly shutting down several underperforming locations to counteract financial losses.
According to a J.Crew Aficionada blog post, the J.Crew store at Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg, IL abruptly shut down on April 12th without any prior warning for area shoppers. Another commenter shared that the store at which she worked closed at the end of January. The company had told employees there that it was in the process of shutting down more stores, but wouldn't disclose specific locations. We've reached out to J.Crew for comment and will update accordingly.
