Layoffs Begin at in Advance of Vogue Merger

Layoffs have already hit following yesterday's news that Condé Nast will migrate editorial content to Vogue and spin the site into Condé's ambitious e-commerce destination. WWD reports that at least 5 staff members at lost their jobs, including the site's photo editor and fashion market director. WWD also suggested that EIC Dirk Standen wasn't aware of what Condé Nast had in store for the site, although Standen wasn't available for comment. It's unclear what his new role will be at Vogue or if he will stay with the company.
