On Tuesday night, Diane Von Furstenberg's team posted an Instagram of Bruce Jenner's face photoshopped onto Von Furstenberg's body in an image for a 1970s ad campaign for the brand's iconic wrap dress. The caption reads: "Bruce Jenner... You are the woman you wanted to be! I salute your strength, courage, and honesty. By speaking out, you have spoken for so many who suffer... Love Diane @kimkardashian @kendeljenner [sic]"
As expected, commenters immediately started skewering the post in the comments and it was quickly deleted from the account. In response to the whole affair, DVF released a statement that decidedly did not address the Instagram, but just restated the designer's support for Bruce. "I admire Bruce Jenner's strength, courage and honesty and have so much respect for him using his voice to speak for people who have none," the statement reads. "I wish him nothing but a lifetime of happiness."
