The former creative director and CEO of Gucci are getting hitched. According to WWD, Frida Giannini and Patrizio di Marco are planning to wed on June 5 and sources speculate that it could take place at a beach resort about 60 miles from Rome, although the pair is keeping quiet about the exact details.
Their partnership was a sore spot among employees at Gucci; a New York Times investigation into the firing uncovered plenty of dissent among the troops regarding Giannini and di Marco's relationship. One former Gucci VP told the NYT, "I got emails from people saying, 'We don't have anyone to talk to because they talk to each other.'" In di Marco's last memo to employees before he stepped down at Gucci, he didn't fail to mention Giannini: "In the workplace—which we both put above everything, at great personal cost—she was the best possible partner that one could have wished for."
