Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
Coachella wrapped up just over a month ago, which means it is high time to start making plans for next year's fringe-laden desert party. The festival has named its 2016 dates (April 15th–17th and April 22nd–24th) and has staked out its land (the Empire Polo Grounds, again).
Tickets will go up for grabs on June 4th at 11am PDT, and Consequence of Sound reports that this will be the only time that passes will be available to purchase with a payment plan. Since ticket prices will probably be on par with last year's, it makes perfect sense that the festival is offering a payment plan to help people pay their way in (again).
