Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

The Honest Company, Jessica Alba's startup valued at $1 billion, is getting into beauty. The brand, which got its start with non-toxic, eco-friendly diapers, has expanded into other categories like household cleaning products, soap, lotions, and baby gear. Alba posted the news on her social media channels, but the only detail she revealed is that Honest Beauty is slated to launch this fall.
