Meryl Streep is giving Rolling Stone cover star Kim Kardashian a run for her money. The Oscar winning actress is front-and-center on a brand new indie magazine called NeueJournal that's launching this week, according to Style.com. Photographer Brigitte Lacombe shot Streep, Jake Gyllenhaal, Robin Wright, Ed Ruscha, Oscar Isaac, Frank Stella, and Mary Heilmann for seven alternate NeueJournal covers—a pretty big coup for a indie magazine in its infancy.

"Being photographed by [Lacombe] is the only time I don't mind being photographed—in other situations I feel like a performing elephant," Streep tells Style.com. "I feel like I don't have to do anything. She does all the work."
