According to Page Six, maybe-retired supermodel Gisele Bündchen and her younger sister Rafaela Bündchen disguised themselves in burqas to try and sneak into an appointment with Bündchen's plastic surgeon this month in France. They probably thought this made sense because it was during the Islam holy month of Ramadan (which ended July 17). Unfortunately, they: a) wore open-toed shoes, which are forbidden to strict Muslim women who would typically wear burqas, b) were in France, which has banned public use of burqas since 2010, and c) are not practicing Muslims.
Anonymous sources told Page Six that Bündchen's appointment was for work on her breasts and her eyes which reportedly cost $11,000. The supermodel and her sister stayed at the clinic overnight before decamping to the Les Sources de Caudalie spa to recover for five days before leaving Paris. France is not too happy with the whole situation; citizens have called the disguise both ridiculous and shameful.
