As the clocks in Los Angeles strike five on Sunday afternoon, the top tier teens will exit their stretch limos and walk the red carpet outside USC's Galen Center. You will pretend to have better things to do than watch Nicki, Taylor, and Katy battle it out for Social Media Queen, but it's Sunday night, and you can't resist a young celebrity shitshow waiting to happen. Here's everything you need to know before the Kardashians arrive.
How to Watch
The show will air on FOX at 8PM EST on Sunday, August 16th. For those hoping to watch the show on a computer, you can watch using FOX Now, here.
You can also follow the event on Twitter under the hashtag the official Teen Choice Awards account is using, #TeenChoice.
To see the event on Snapchat, add username teenchoice to follow along on the platform teens do best.
Hosts
The show will be hosted by not one, not two, but three celebs beloved by teens. Rapper and actor Ludacris, Jane the Virgin star Gina Rodriguez, and Josh Peck of Drake and Josh will usher performers and special guests on and off the stage.
Performances
Two new singles will hit teen earbuds for the very first time at the award show. Female pop quartet Little Mix, which includes Zayn Malik's ex-fiancée, will be performing a new single "Black Magic." Five Seconds of Summer will be debuting their song called, "She's Kinda Hot." Empire's Jussie Smollett and Cryshere "Yazz" Gray are also set to perform. Flo Rida will perform his "I Don't Like It, I Love It," with a special appearance from Robin Thicke. Lastly, Rachel Platten will perform her "Fight Song."
Scheduled Attendees
Multi-million follower Instagram accounts like Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus, Kylie Jenner and Ariana Grande are expected to attend. To add fuel to a previously burning fire, One Direction and former band-member Zayn Malik will be there. In addition, Caitlyn Jenner, Britney Spears, and Ellen DeGeneres are scheduled to appear. Scream Queens Lea Michele, Emma Roberts, and Keke Palmer confirmed their attendance, as well as Vin Diesel and Victoria Justice. Sounds like a real party, though not the typical teen one thrown at the resident "cool parents" house in the neighborhood.
