Kevin Smith, the writer and director of the 1995 Mallrats has found the mall that will play the backdrop in the comedy's sequel, twenty years later. The Exton Square Mall of Exton, Pennsylvania is often overshadowed by the nearby King of Prussia Mall, the largest shopping mall in America, but now it's getting its time in the spotlight with Jay and Silent Bob.
Previously, Smith revealed that he would "love nothing more than to shoot at the Granite Run Mall," another Pennsylvania mall. He said, "It's gorgeous, it's iconic, it looks exactly like what we need." The only problem was that they planned to knock it down in September, and the movie's lead, Jason Lee, isn't available until October. And this concludes the Battle of the Pennsylvania Malls.
