Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Adweek's newest cover star is Lauren Conrad, former reality star turned fashion designer/online entrepreneur. Adweek profiled her in the hours leading up to her first runway show for the line, LC Lauren Conrad, which marks a New York Fashion Week debut for both Conrad and Kohl's.

The Kohl's partnership launched in 300 stores and online in 2009 but quickly expanded after a warm reception; now, the line is carried in 1,200 stores. The runway collection debuting at NYFW is a limited-edition version of the Kohl's line, complete with higher-end fabrics (leather! velvet! crystal embellishments!) and a more expensive price point. According to Adweek, the most expensive item, a strapless tulle dress, is priced at $200. Kohls.com is already selling the entire 100+ piece runway line on the website right now and — great news — it's already 25% off.
