The black carpet at last night's Harper's Bazaar Fashion Icons party was the host of two big debuts. Katy Perry showed up with a new, Poison Ivy-inspired hair color (plus a pink bob for the afterparty), and Gigi Hadid wore a heavily-printed dress from Balmain's collaboration with H&M. Celebrities like Kendall Jenner, Mariah Carey, and Hailey Baldwin were also in attendance at The Plaza in New York City, but with their usual hair colors and garb.
Inside the soiree, the newly red-headed Katy Perry performed a thirty-minute set which included "Roar," "I Kissed a Girl," and "Teenage Dream." She prefaced "Firework" with a a motivational speech, giving a shoutout to all of the fashion assistants in the room:
I always feel like an outcast or a black sheep because I'm no longer a sample size. This next song is a song I want you to remember when you’re going about your day and you rip your pants, you have two Band-Aids fall off of the back of your heel, you’re sweating, there’s coffee all over your blouse. I’m talking about all the assistants here. And you feel, maybe, like a little plastic bag.
She finished off with, "Fashion Week's almost over — you can drink as much as you want." Amen to that.
