Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Fred Armisen, general funny man and Portlandia star, walked the Emmys 2015 red carpet with a single Freddy Krueger hand. It glistened in the 100 degree heat. It lay casually on his maybe girlfriend Natasha Lyonne's shoulder. It was really freaking terrifying. It's incredibly easy to chalk it up to "Eh, it's Fred Armisen." The hand, however, is a call back to a joke from the August 11th episode of Late Night With Seth Meyers, where he leads the house band, the 8G Band.

Fred told Seth that he had organized a 5k in order to deliver Freddy Krueger hands to underprivileged youth. He deadpanned, "Not every kid has them. You think that they do, but all around the world, they don't all have the one glove. [...] You can have these gloves; these aren't just something in a Halloween store. You can have them in your life." Fred also says he watches Freddy Krueger almost every week. That's fun fact you can truly believe in.
