Single girls everywhere felt something in the air, sniffed twice, held up a finger to account for wind direction, and knew that a handsome royal-in-law somewhere in England was suddenly available. That is to say, James Middleton (brother of Kate) and girlfriend Donna Air are calling it quits after two years of dating.

The pair met back in 2013, and were introduced by Princess Eugenie, who was a mutual friend. Us Weekly's source blamed the break up on a "difference of interests," explaining that James is simply "not looking to get married at the moment, he's not in a rush." Donna, on the other hand, was hoping to settle down with the handsome semi-royal. You can probably change him, though. He'd probably settle down for you.

According to The Sun's source, "The split happened a couple of weeks ago and it was James's decision," noting that "she's more than a little heartbroken." (OF COURSE SHE IS BECAUSE SHE'S PROBABLY GOING TO BE ALONE FOREVER NOW CHRIST.) Likewise, the thirty-six-year-old model, actress, and singer's recent Instagram has heartbreak written all over it. She uploaded a photo of a smiley face ring (we all know what that means) as well as a yoga-inspired motivational quote. Royal or not, motivational quotes are a natural part of the break up process. We're sorry for the couple's loss, but will not hesitate to move in posthaste.
