Antonio Banderas shared last month that he was enrolled at Central St. Martins, the prestigious London fashion school responsible for educating designers like Alexander McQueen and Stella McCartney. While it wasn't exactly clear at the time as to why the actor wanted to take a break from the silver screen and pursue fashion, he's finally giving us some answers—he wants to design capes.
In an interview with the student run paper Granary 1, Antonio reveals his love for the sleeveless outwear, and his desire to revive it. He explains, "There is one garment that I love that was lost in menswear a long time ago, and I would like to experiment with it: the cape. Capes in the winter, in places like this… I think they have incredible possibilities."
Antonio has spent more time in the garment than most, especially during his role playing Zorro, a cape-wearing, sword-slinging outlaw. Maybe he is on to something?
