The least important (or if your movie tastes trend toward hate-watching, the most important) nominations of awards season have just been announced. Lo and behold, Gwyneth Paltrow, a woman who does so many different things it's almost easy to forget she's also an actress, has been nominated for a Razzie.
She gets the unfortunate distinction as Worst Actress for her work in Mortdecai, a film whose aggressive marketing campaign still couldn't manage to explain what, in fact, it was about. Co-star Johnny Depp was also nominated for Worst Actor in the same movie, which curiously wasn't nominated for Worst Picture. The films that were: Fantastic Four, Fifty Shades of Grey, Jupiter Ascending, Pixels, and Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2.
Gwyneth will go up against Katherine Heigl (Home Sweet Hell), Dakota Johnson (Fifty Shades of Grey), Mila Kunis (Jupiter Ascending), and Jennifer Lopez (The Boy Next Door). Regardless of whether or not she wins-slash-loses when the awards are announced on February 27th, at least she's got her new organic beauty line to fall back on.
