Brocade experienced a modern day revival this season, and it doesn't look like it's going anywhere anytime soon. Designers took to the fall 2015 and spring 2016 runways with the luxurious woven fabrics, combining old world textures with modern day shapes and colorways. Dries van Noten aimed for a more imperial feel by marrying gold brocades with rich shades of red and purple, while Mary Katrantzou mixed in paisleys to create everything from waist-cinching shift dresses to Victorian hobble skirts.
Gucci kept the trend alive with its spring 2016 runway show, utilizing it to tie together its vintage grandma-themed collection. Try the look for yourself by pairing a brocade top with matching trousers this winter. If you're aiming for something a little more subtle, snag a pair of brocade boots or an embroidered clutch instead. Shop the look, from decadent tops to dramatic bottoms, with nine of our favorite iterations above.
