The British meaning football is something universally admired and yet, Americans refuse to use it for anything but their weird interpretation of Rugby. However, supermodel of the moment and one half of KenGi with Kendall Jenner, Gigi Hadid has recently taken to embracing the British English meaning of the word since publicly dating British heartthrob-slash-dreamboat, Zayn Malik.
Gigi posted screenshot selfies to Twitter after failed FaceTime calls with her sister Bella Hadid and friend Cully Smoller, who seems to be friends with every famous person but doesn't have a specified job.
In these screenshots, Hadid was wearing a Bradford City football club polo which happens to be — wait for it — the obscure team her boyfriend Zayn Malik supports in his Northern England hometown. That's some pretty serious stuff as British people are ride or die with their teams, perhaps it's even more meaningful than a proposal! (It's not). I wonder if Gigi is going to start tweeting about relegation and other football-specific terms.
