Rising style star and actress Zendaya Coleman has been announced as the new face of CoverGirl. The 19-year-old signed a contract with the beauty company and we'll see a look at her first commercial during the Grammys on February 15th.
Coleman has spoken out about magazines photoshopping her image and body positivity in general. "CoverGirl celebrates powerful, beautiful, and strong women of different races and ethnicities. It's inspiring," Zendaya tells Teen Vogue. "I'm thrilled to be part of the diversity and expansion of beauty."
Coleman joins CoverGirl's already crowded roster of celebrity that includes the likes of Katy Perry, Sofia Vergara, Queen Latifah, P!nk, and Ellen DeGeneres.
Coleman's Grammys commercial will promote a new line of CoverGirl products. Then, she will appear in ads for CoverGirl's Clean collection as well as a new mascara in summer 2016. CoverGirl says its campaigns with Coleman will aim to "empower girls and women alike to embrace their uniqueness."
