Yesterday, Rihanna tweeted a photo of herself wearing an $8,895 Dolce & Gabbana headphone crown, and today those headphones are completely sold out.
That's what Digiday reports, that the exorbitantly expensive, Swarovski crystal-encrusted gold headphones sold out in less than 24 hours after Rihanna posted them on Twitter.
The tweet was a promo for her long-delayed album Anti, and didn't even mention D&G at all. But Rihanna fans tracked down the over-the-top FRENDS x Dolce & Gabbana headphones, which went down the runway last March in Milan. The brand didn't return calls to Digiday about sales of the headphones.
No wonder a recent study named Rihanna the most marketable celebrity in the world. If she can move $9,000 headphones (they aren't even wireless!), anything is possible. Think of how many copies of Anti she could sell, if only she released it.
