Anne Hathaway isn't the type to a) post swimsuit photos on Instagram, b) post on Instagram very often at all, or c) publicly address news about her personal life. She did all three of those things at once last night. (Word of her pregnancy circulated back in November, but neither she nor husband Adam Shulman had publicly confirmed it.) After spotting paparazzi taking picture of her at the beach, she decided to undermine them through her sparse social channels.
"Happy 2016 to my beautiful Instafriends!" she wrote. "So, posting a bikini pic is a little out of character for me, but just now while I was at the beach I noticed I was being photographed. I figure if this kind of photo is going to be out in the world it should at least be an image that makes me happy (and be one that was taken with my consent. And with a filter :)" May 2016 be the year that celebrities announce their pregnancies via highly unexpected media.
