Tory Burch got engaged to LVMH bigwig Pierre-Yves Roussel over the weekend, but she made a much more important commitment to a mountain-size engagement ring. The designer tried to sneak the ring into an Instagram before announcing the engagement, but fans were quick to note the massive ring she was wearing.
Burch's husband-to-be is CEO and chairman of the LVMH group, which owns fashion labels like Louis Vuitton, Dior, and Givenchy. The Cut notes that Roussel sat front row at Burch's fashion show in February 2013, sparking rumors that LVMH was going to acquire Tory Burch. However, the appearance has led to a different kind of partnership and the couple reportedly started dating in the summer of 2014. Burch announced the engagement on Instagram with a post accompanied by the simple caption, "We are tying the knot...#blessed #engaged #happynewyear."
However, it was the post before that one that garnered all the attention. Although Burch was trying to promote her Tory Sport outfit, the commenters naturally lasered in on the ring. "Look at her engagement ring....... What. The. Hell," one commenter wrote. Another added, "Holy cow dat rock."
This will be Burch's third marriage. She was previously married to C.Wonder owner Chris Burch and real estate powerhouse William Macklowe.
