The People's Choice Awards nominees were instructed to keep their speeches "short and sweet" this year, but when Vin Diesel accepted the awards for Favorite Action Movie and Favorite Film for Furious 7, he did something else: he sang. In an emotional tribute to his late co-star Paul Walker, Vin Diesel belted the beginning to the unofficial song of summer, "See You Again."
It wasn't the only time tonight's award show has made the audience misty-eyed, either: Before Ellen DeGeneres accepted the award for Favorite Humanitarian, Melissa McCarthy introduced a short film depicting the comedian's charitable works over the years, including her efforts after Hurricane Katrina, LGBTQ acceptance, and breast cancer research.
If you can even stand it after all that, watch Vin Diesel sing, "It's been a long day without you my friend" in the Vine below.
