Here's another telling sign on how the Apple Watch is going over with smartwatch shoppers and the general public. During the initial launch, Apple made such a big deal over selling its new watches in fancy fashion boutiques and via scheduled appointments in Apple stores.
Now you can buy the Apple Watch on Groupon, of all places. The Apple Watch Sport is on sale right now in both 38mm or 42mm sizes.
On Groupon, it's priced at $339.99 for the 38mm and $379.99 for the 42mm. On Apple's site, the 38mm is $349 and the 42mm is $399. On Groupon, bands are available in colors like blue, rose gold, space gray, and white.
Since this is Groupon, the deal is advertised as being available in "limited quantities" with a "limited time remaining," so those interested should hurry.
Apple has been reticent to share sales numbers for the Apple Watch. According to The Verge, Apple groups all its newest products, including the Apple Watch, the redesigned Apple TV, Beats headphones, and the iPod, into a category called "Other Products" in its earnings reports.
So, if the rumored Apple Watch 2 is really on its way, is the Groupon deal an attempt to clear out inventory?
