Who is going to break the bad news to Kanye? Kylie Jenner's rumored partnership with Puma has been confirmed by Nice Kicks. The outlet got solid intel on the deal by visiting the Puma booth at tradeshow Agenda Las Vegas.
When news of Kylie x Puma was initially reported, Kanye vehemently protested, claiming that the youngest Jenner needed to stay in the Adidas family, that she wouldn't be swayed by a "measly million dollars," and that they were going to give back the money.
Kylie joins Rihanna in the Puma family, although her deal is different than the BadGal's. Rihanna signed on as Puma's creative director and just unveiled her first collaborative collection with the sportswear brand. Meanwhile, Kylie will work with the brand as an "advocate," meaning she will promote specific products through both campaigns and her own insanely popular social platforms.
Nice Kicks reports that Kylie's first photoshoot with Puma is already wrapped up.
On the bright side, maybe Kanye, who has been hitting up tech giants like Mark Zuckerberg and Larry Page, can use that "measly" million dollars to make more dope shit.
Update: Racked received an official statement from Puma's global director of brand and marketing, Adam Petrick, confirming that Kylie is Puma's newest face. It reads:
I am pleased and excited to be able to confirm that Puma is indeed working with Kylie Jenner. Kylie will be featured in the brand’s Spring/Summer women’s training campaign launching in April 2016. Kylie represents a fresh and exciting new era for fashion and we couldn’t think of a more fitting and influential female to headline this campaign for Puma.
Update 2/18/16: Yeezus has spoken. TMZ caught up with Kanye to ask him about his sister-in-law's new deal with Puma. Kanye admits that he wasn't happy originally, but continues on the all-positivity wave he's been tweeting about. "She had already signed, and I was mad for a little bit, but I'm really happy for her, though," he said.
Update 2/22/16: The Fashion Law is reporting on Jenner's deal, and it sounds like it's incredibly favorable for the reality star. Jenner is getting paid $1 million for a contract that lasts only six months and that it's in her contract that she can wear Adidas. That'll definitely make Kanye happy.
