It seems that Anna Wintour has held out for as long as possible. WWD reports that Kendall Jenner is heavily rumored to be the cover star for American Vogue's June issue. It would mark the first time the model Jenner has covered the magazine.
WWD's sources tell the outlet that the cover shoot was done just recently, in the midst of New York Fashion Week, and on the event's turf.
An Instagram picture posted by Jenner shows the model in an elevator that WWD's sources say is in Milk Studio, where the shoot was done.
Really, though, the best part of the story is that North's most recent gift to the world, a video of her wearing fur and telling the camera, "No pictures," plays heavily into WWD's detective work. After the best part of the video ends, the camera cuts away from North (it makes us sad just talking about it) and fixes on Jenner. WWD's sources say that in the clip you can see Jenner in an outfit that's included in the Vogue spread to-be.
Just last year, Jenner covered editions of Vogue in Japan, Paris, and Brazil. However, fronting American Vogue is a different kind of honor and one that has only been bestowed upon two other members of the Kardashian-Jener family, Kim and Kanye in their joint cover. This would be the first solo cover for a Kardashian-Jenner.
It was really only a matter of time, though. Wintour has been embedded with the Kardashian-Jenner-West family for some time and even sat with them when she attended Kanye's Yeezy Season 3 extravaganza at Madison Square Garden. This lead tell-it-like-it-is fashion critic Cathy Horyn to say in her review "she looked diminished, like a Kardashian accessory."
