Karl Lagerfeld favorite Kristen Stewart has been tapped to be the new face of Chanel's upcoming makeup collection, WWD reports. The former Twilight star was shot by Mario Testino for a campaign called Collection Eyes 2016. The first image shared from the campaign fittingly shows a close-up of Stewart's eye and not much else.
Chanel tells WWD that Stewart posed for a number of similar photographs that "incarnate the different facets of a contemporary woman."
Stewart has worked with Chanel and Karl Lagerfeld on multiple occasions. She's fronted numerous campaigns, including ads for the house's Métiers d'Art Paris-Dallas collection in 2014, its handbag collection, and its spring/summer 2015 eyewear range.
She also walked in Chanel's casino-themed haute couture show and even played Coco Chanel in the Karl Lagerfeld-directed short film "Once and Forever."
In the past, Lagerfeld has told WWD that Stewart is "one of the greatest actors of her generation." And she "looks more like Chanel than all the other actresses who played her." It's no wonder that Lagerfeld keeps coming back to her.
