Gwyneth Paltrow's Perfectionism Drove Everyone Working on Her Beauty Line Crazy

Gwyenth Paltrow fronts the March issue of Glamour magazine. In her cover interview, the actress and Goop mastermind spills the deets on her forthcoming beauty line, building her own brand, and dealing with sexism and negative energy.

Paltrow says the beauty line will be more than up to Goop's organic and non-toxic standards. The products are so natural "you could eat it," she tells Glamour.

"With the skin care line, I'm a little bit nuts. There's no point in making something unless it's better than anything you've ever found. So I gave everyone [at Juice, who she collaborated with] a run for their money. My head of beauty started calling me the Princess and the Pea; one time we agreed on a sample, and I said, 'Perfect.' Then another sample of it came, and I was like, 'They changed it.' Some preservative changed, I could tell, and they were like, 'Sh-t.'"

She also confirms that the products in the collection were named after her friends. "The line is made in California, so I was thinking of my California posse: Cameron, Blythe, Apple, Drew, Reese, Kate, Chelsea," she explains.

There has been pushback to Paltrow and her Goop brand and the actress believes much of it is fueled by sexism.

"I think it's appalling," Paltrow says when asked about how women entrepreneurs are treated differently than their male counterparts. "And the worst part of it is how [critics] try to pit us against each other. The energy could not be more opposite. We help each other; we consult each other."

Paltrow seems to take all the criticism in stride, though. "I'm like, "If you want to f--k with me, bring your A-game," she says. "At least have all your information. Once in a while, if I'm exhausted and overwhelmed, I'll be like, 'Ugh, that bugs me,' or, 'That hurt my feelings.' But very rarely. I don't lose sleep over it."
