Kim Kardashian: reality TV star, businesswoman, never-the-bridesmaid-and-always-the-bride, now gaming industry titan? Gamespot reports that Mrs. West's mobile game Kim Kardashian: Hollywood has made a mind-boggling $100 million — two times more than Kanye's $52 million "debt".
Glu Mobile CEO Niccolo de Masi shared the news at the DICE Summit, an annual conference with a focus on the business side of the video game industry, in Las Vegas. De Masi also said that the game has been downloaded 42 million times since launch.
However, since game downloads are free, all that money is being poured into the app by people buying up extras, like clothes designed by Olivier Rousteing.
De Masi says part of the game's success is owed to the fact that it's able to constantly update to include features that feel authentic to the present-day Kardashian.
And if you think making $100 million on a mobile game is as easy as slapping the Kardashian name on it, think again. Just look at fellow superstar Katy Perry's game, which launched in December but has already fallen below Kardashian's game on the most downloaded chart.
Kendall and Kylie just launched their mobile game last week and will certainly hope to recreate the success their big sis has had. Taylor Swift also has an app with Glu Mobile in the works.
