Musician, mogul, and creative force Pharrell Williams seems to be focusing in on fashion for 2016. G-Star Raw just announced that Williams is now a co-owner of the jeans brand.
Williams has been working with G-Star for the past two years as part of a collab with Williams's company Bionic Yarn on "RAW for the Oceans," which transforms recycled ocean plastic into denim.
Now, that Bionic Yarn eco-friendly denim initiative will continue and expand. As co-owner, Williams will also be involved in everything at G-Star from collections to advertising and business strategy.
Last month, WWD reported that Williams and his partners repurchased Iconix Brands Group Inc.’s 50% interest in BBC Ice Cream LLC, the owner of Billionaire Boys Club and Ice Cream. That means Williams is back in full control of his clothing lines. WWD reports that Williams and partners will continue the expansion, growth and licensing opportunities of Billionaire Boys Club and Ice Cream.
On top of my business. As of today, proud to be a co-owner of @GStarRAW pic.twitter.com/dc3YARX0om
