What a cruel time of year for getting dressed. You're constantly making outfit concessions to deal with rain or a surprisingly hot afternoon. Your winter clothes are stifling, and your summer clothes aren't quite weather-appropriate. And then you get bit by The Shoppies and you just want new clothes, now. But this damn weather. So here's the plan. We identified four outfit ideas c/o Fashion Month street style that you can allow yourself to shop right now, because everything will still make sense in a week (and a month, and way after that). Below, find the between-seasons coat that will carry you in to warmer days (before they're actually, you know, warm), the fashion sneaker du jour, and the bag that will instantly perk up any sad mid-March outfit.
Neutral All the Way

A lesson in lightening up. We love the imperfect mix of neutrals we saw from New York to Paris: cream, tan, camel, brown, and grey are all fair game, no matching required.

Goodbye, Stan Smith; hello, Superstar. The sneakers are a full-blown epidemic; we can't go to a single store, concert, or restaurant without seeing Superstars, which have proven to be versatile enough for knit midi dresses, fancy trousers, or simple jeans.

What a peppy way to fly in to spring. Our street style heroines wore puffers and padded bombers (it was cold out there!), but the color couldn't be better for lightweight jackets. Try contrasting soft pink with navy or burgundy to break out of black.

This sounds "duh" but jeans were absolutely everywhere this season. (Compare this with fussy dresses or matching top and skirt sets of years past.) Across the board, denim was straight-leg, worn with everything from loafers to ankle boots to strappy sandals.
