Tom Hanks: Oscar winner, American treasure, and all-around good samaritan. While many celebrities will use their social media followings to make a buck and shill for products, Hanks is hoping his reach can reunite owners with lost pieces of clothing.

Hanks doesn't tweet much, which only makes his penchant for blasting out lost items that much more noticeable. Hanks has tweeted 17 times since November of last year and SEVEN of those have been lost gloves, shoes, and an unidentifiable pink object that could be a mitten or a hat.

Sometimes he tweets it with an address so the owner knows where to find it.

Other times he just wants to show off how good he probably is at those I Spy books.

Other times he's judgemental Hanks, err, Hanx.

Mostly he's just turning his observations into classic Dad Jokes, though.

Or maybe it's all performance art, in which case he's definitely going to get nominated for an Oscar for it.

Hanks shares his fascination with people's lost objects with Sarah Jessica Parker. SJP is also constantly finding and posting items she finds on the streets of New York. That or she's stumbling upon those $5 you lost.

Found on 7 av southish. Anyone care ro explain? X sj
