The Best Runway Shoes From Paris Fashion Week

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Parisian designers are known for bringing out the big guns during their bi-annual ready-to-wear shows — top models, famous celebrity faces, etc. And while their collections often fixate solely on the clothes, the shoes they send strolling down the runways play a major role as well.

The fall 2016 shows at Paris Fashion Week brought their A-game in the shoe department with denim and leather festival-style boots at Chanel and lace-up ballerina heels at Valentino. Ankle boots were also popular in Paris at shows like Louis Vuitton, Mugler, and Carven.

Come September, these boots, brogues, and heels will be on the feet of street style stars everywhere. So get familiar with them now in our gallery above.
