Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Prince William and Kate Middleton packed in quite a bit for their first day in India. After arriving, they stopped by the Taj Palace Hotel memorial, where she wore Alexander McQueen. The couple then visited the Banganga slums, where they played soccer with local children and met Bollywood dancer Siddesh Tirloskar, who grew up there.

Somehow resisting the urge for a dance-off, they headed over to the Oval Maiden recreational grounds to meet with various children's charities, which immediately led to more princess sports with kids.

Sports! Sports! SPORTS!

As you'll note from the above documentation, Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, mother to the heir to the English crown, is good at sports regardless of her footwear. She chose a Monsoon espadrille wedge (still in stock and just $79!) and a tunic dress by Mumbai designer Anita Dongre. As we publish this, the dress is still available in sizes eight and up for $236.

Finally, the couple attended a gala dinner back at the hotel. She wore a Jenny Packham dress paired with lapiz earrings by Indian jeweler Amrapali. As the tour continues, expect more of this — i.e. a whirlwind of local designers mixed with her old standbys Jenny Packham, L.K. Bennett, and more.
