Stripes continue to dominate for spring, but gingham is making a bold comeback like no other just in time for warmer weather.

The trend gained a little bit of steam last September with Adam Selman's fall 2015 collection of checkered trench coats and matching trousers. But for spring 2016, Stella McCartney and Wes Gordon hopped on the preppy inspired look, too — McCartney giving it a new twist with a transparent layered effect on collared dresses and Gordon playing up lace-panelled tanks with the print.

Wear a gingham button-down by Gucci (slide 6) with a pair of boyfriend jeans if you're not trying to go for the East Hamptons mom on a yacht look. If you're looking for more of a Southern Living, country-chic look, pair your Marni mini-skirt (slide 7) with a woven-raffia basket clutch.

Check out our gallery for some checkered pieces you can shop right now, from Equipment to Topshop.
