Blue Ivy's Mystical Princess Party Will Laugh in the Face of Your Childhood

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Do you think you had an okay childhood? That's great! But Blue Ivy's childhood sees your childhood and is like, "K." Comparisons are odious is a thing a mom said probably, but check out this party Blue and Beyoncé threw (presumably for the former's birthday, which was on January 7th). It's so great, you'll want to have a kid so you can live vicariously through it and give it all the things you never had, like a full fairy garden complete with princesses, a lounge area, toddler-sized tents, and paper flowers you can't DIY yourself no matter how many Pinterest tutorials you read, for example.

Blue wore two outfits to this party: a straight princess look, tulle and all, and a dress with a butterfly print (bugs: so hot right now).

The heck is this balloon supposed to be? Art, probably. Fairy art.

Fairy wings for every fairy baby.

Clearly cheating, but that's fine. It's Blue Ivy's world and we're just living in it.

There's a fairy lounge for kicking back, sipping magic, and whatever else fairies do.

Most likely totally legit fairy princesses.

And Blue looked upon her fairy kingdom and saw that it was good.
