Fashion rarely comes into contact with fear. Listen to enough designers talk about collection for long enough and you'll likely hear the words "dreams," "fantasy," "muse," and "inspiration" enough times that you forget what any of them mean. Words you don't hear as much? Anxiety. Cold-blooded terror. Pho-bi-as.
We've collected a series of runway looks from spring and fall 2016 seasons that may look perfectly elegant to the non-phobia-plagued eye, but would trigger one or more diagnosable fears in those of sufferers. You know what they say: one woman's head-to-toe Balenciaga flower suit is another woman's living nightmare.
Take a look at the selection of terror above. There are fears of bugs represented, as are fears of dogs. There are a whole lot of fears of colors, which may seem lazy, but tell that to known sufferers of color-based phobias! We do not recommend using this gallery to self-diagnose, but if it sends you running in fear, do get that checked out.
