The double date of the decade is currently taking place, but before the actual meal gets underway, it's time for the far more important standing-in-a-line-taking-photos part. After having lunch with the royal Olds (Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip) earlier today, President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama are set to have dinner at Kensington Palace with the younger generation: Prince William, Kate Middleton, and royal fifth wheel Prince Harry.
For the event, Kate Middleton went with the designer she's perhaps most associated with. She's wearing the LK Bennett 'Addison' dress, which is miraculously still on sale for $525 (update: it sold out within minutes). Meanwhile, Michelle changed out of the Oscar de la Renta dress and Narciso Rodriguez coat she wore earlier into a different Narciso Rodriguez coat, the rose double-face crepe coat. The look in its entirety is a monochrome ensemble that would probably make celebrity stylist Monica Rose very, very proud. The men in attendance kept things unusually casual, with nary a tie in sight.
Here's a video of their official meeting:

If you're currently wondering, "Sure, but where's George?" (same), he waited in the hallway of the apartment so that he could greet the Obamas when they arrived. Warning: the photo evidence of this encounter is almost dangerously adorable:
There's also video of that moment:
