Kacey Musgraves showed up at the 51st Academy of Country Music Awards in an outfit that left one big question: who the heck is her stylist these days? The all-black, slicked-back look is a major departure even from her most recent red carpet appearance, the tiered cupcake gown that she wore to the Grammys. Dig deeper into her sartorial history and you'll find many a prairie dress and big hair. Very. Big. Hair.

Stylist Hayley Atkins took credit for those past looks, but has not claimed responsibility for New Kacey. The mermaid gown with a lace bandeau gives her the air of a Bella Hadid impersonator at the Oscars. Elegant country goth certainly doesn't feel right for the fun, and sometimes anachronistic ACM Awards red carpet, but she looks very right now.

It seems unlikely that Musgraves would dress herself for these types of events, since record labels are strict about image. Still, she meticulously credits everyone on her Instagram, from manicurists to photographers, and there's nary a mention of a stylist there.

Musgraves was nominated for Video of the Year for "Biscuits" and Female Vocalist of the Year.
