Much like Canadian youth Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez turned up to the iHeartRadio Music Awards looking very color-coordinated with the night's corporate host. A red pullover for him, a fiery Mugler jumpsuit for her.
Unlike her ex-boyfriend, however, she eschewed a fresh head of baby dreadlocks, and opted instead for beachy waves, multiple choker necklaces, and some silver peep toe sandals. All together, her look walks the line between sophisticated and something an early '00s Britney Spears would be deeply into. Which, honestly, is exactly where any budding pop star should aspire to sit.
Over the last two years, Gomez has been honing her look with the help of Kate Young, ranked by the Hollywood Reporter as this year's most powerful celebrity stylist. Gomez's new style took some time to clarify itself, but with enough red carpet appearances in slinky, very grown-up gowns and power suits, it's worked out to something along the lines of "luxury boardroom sexpot." As she sings on the title track of her album "Revival": "It's my, my, my time to butterfly-y-y-y." And she has butterflied — this time, while wearing a jumpsuit and miraculously managing to avoid camel toe.
