Both Demi Lovato and Zendaya showed up at the 2016 iHeartRadio Music Awards with angular bob haircuts, cementing an unfortunate trend toward newscaster cuts for young, American songstresses. The girls follow both Taylor Swift and Rihanna with the style; the former debuting her chin-length cut late 2015 timed to her '1989' tour, the later arriving at New York Fashion Week in February of this year with a center-part bob.
Let me preface this by saying that I had a sharp bob from ages 19 — 22 and am generally a fan of Great Bobs In History (Cleopatra, '20s flappers, and '90s grunge girls all in mind). Somehow each of these modern girls, aged 19 to 28, managed to get bobs that make them look like talk show hosts. That said, I'd love to see a Demi, Zendaya, Taylor, and Rihanna talk show.

I truly, truly love you, Rihanna, but what the h*ck. Fringe pants, a croptop that reveals your underboob tattoo (I truly love you), and Drake in the flesh — none of these things demand a bob haircut.
