"Yves Saint Laurent and Kering are pleased to announce the appointment of Anthony Vaccarello as Creative Director of the maison Yves Saint Laurent, effective immediately." After rumors that began months ago, it's finally official.

Quick catch-up: Hedi Slimane's exit from the French fashion brand was confirmed Friday; Vaccarello has been the rumored next-in-line at YSL since January; Versus Versace announced Sunday that Vaccarello was out as creative director.

Vaccarello's first collection for the brand will be spring 2017, shown during Paris Fashion Week in October of this year.
